Where did one peso go?
Three friends ate at a restaurant. Their total bill was 25 pesos, so each shelled-out 10 pesos. The change was thus 5 pesos. A peso each was returned and the remaining 2 pesos was given to the waiter as a tip.
Now for the calculation:
How much did each person give? 9 pesos (that's 10 pesos less 1 peso returned).
9 pesos x 3 persons = 27 pesos
27 pesos + 2 pesos for the waiter = 29 pesos.
Never mind that these three persons found the nerve to tip 2 pesos only, but they originally had 30 pesos and the total is now 29 pesos. Where did 1 peso go?
