Sampaloc!

A truly Filipino treat. Comes from the tamarind tree. The fresh "fruit" is mixed with brown sugar over heat, then sprinkled with salt.

It's a sweet, sour, and salty taste all mixed into one. Mouth watering yet?

before, i used to like & enjoy this sampaloc treat not until i found out how the processing goes. they say, what u don't know or see won't hurt you, it's true, but as i chew on the sweet-salty flesh, the idea keeps on refreshing. WHY? i am already aware of what's responsible for the mouth-watering taste hehe..
..i still eat..if i really cant help it =)

matamis siya nick. don't know how they process it but it's still in the pod/shell when you buy it.

en, oh yeah. my sister told me how it was processed. so i don't eat much sampaloc these days (well it also causes my hyperacidity anyway :)

Hello En and Cherry!

tama kayo, pero oks lang..it's not really healthy to be super clean all the time =) we have to take in a few bad bacteria to keep the natural flora working di ba? ;)
